Had a Persian/Greek/Middle Eastern? meat dish called kadineh kabob as a lunch special in the Skyline Mall in Bailey's Crossroads. What was unusual and chowhound-y about it was that it was purchased at a pizza/pasta place called Italian Gardens, which apparently also serves a range of grilled middle eastern type plates and sandwiches. An unbelievable deal at $6.22 (incl. tax) for two seasoned rolled meat/sausage type kabobs atop a bed of white and saffron rice sprinkled with that red spice (name escapes me, zatar?), a large warm pita bread, yogurt sauce, cucumber tomato sauce, grilled tomatoes, onion, fresh parsley, a chunk of feta cheese, and a drink. Does anyone know what type of cuisine this actually is?
