Justa Bite, the hopeful venture by a young pastry chef on the difficult north-of-Union part of Columbus Avenue apparently failed to stick, (trouble with those morning bums, er buns?) has a big sign in the window (REOPENING SOON -- UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT).
B&J (J&B?), the mystery burger place at Columbus and Green is closed, its owners "retiring." I'm wondering if it's not another victim of the seismic retrofit that kayoed Gold Spike, as it's in the same structure. I think this place holds a record for the number of years I've been walking by a low-end restaurant without ever going in.
Some good news, at least for wine-bibbers: Coit Liquor appears to be just about ready to open its new tasting bar (it's right at the front of the store, where you can be seen, so tell them to be discreet with those Merlots).
