Jury Duty in Arlington - Kabob House and TNR in Courthouse

Steve | Oct 22, 201512:57 PM     3

I visited two places while doing jury duty this week in Arlington. Two spots that I wouldn't normally visit because they seem to exist only to serve a captive lunch crowd. Was my theory correct?

First up is Kabob House, and I got a bone-in chicken lunch special. Three pieces of fiery red tandoor-style kabob over a salad with a side of yellow lentils and naan. It was a nice lunch, though not nearly as good as the best choice in the area, Astor Mediterranean.

Next was Tea, Noodles, Rice (TNR). I passed up the lunch specials and ordered the zha jang mian (noodles in bean paste) from the regular menu. I should have asked for the sauce on the side or tasted it before mixing in with the noodles. There was easily three times as much sauce as I needed, and it was way too salty. The noodles were perfectly cooked, though.

Yeah, I have to say I am not encouraged to go back to either place.
