Junior's Colchester, VT Review

We visited Junior's on Saturday night. Our table was 8 people at 8:00 and we were sat on time. Our waitress was friendly and provided very good service. The claamari appetizer is simply prepared and plenty for two or more to share. Entrees are served with a small house salad and their homemade foccacia bread. I ordered two bottles of wine, one Antinori Chardonnay and a rustic red from Sardinia (very nice). An interesting point, I asked about a bigger red wine glass as the standard glass is very small (maybe 6 oz). I was told the larger glasses are reserved for bottles that are $35 and up. The waitress obviously interpreted my nonverbal response to that and brought me a larger glass. Kind of an odd policy. All entrees seemed well prepared (I heard no complaints at the table). The pace of the meal was a bit fast for my taste but I guess that beats super slow pacing. We were done eating around 9:00 and the place was fairly empty (such is Vermont where it is harder to get a 6:00 reservation than one at 8:00 !). A 20% gratuity was automatically added (no problem, but certainly would be with unaccpetable service if that had been the case. The bill was around $340 with tax and tip. Solid simple old school Italian in a place with nice ambiance. A 8.0 out of 10.
