It was close and right down to the wire! Our July selection will be BRYANT TERRY MONTH, and will comprise the following books:
Vegetable Kingdom: The Abundant World of Vegan Recipes (2020)
Afro-Vegan: Farm-Fresh African, Caribbean, and Southern Flavors Remixed (2014)
The Inspired Vegan: Seasonal Ingredients, Creative Recipes, Mouthwatering Menus (2012)
Vegan Soul Kitchen: Fresh, Healthy, and Creative African-American Cuisine (2009)
Mr. Terry's books have a style that I think many of you will enjoy. He gives the background and inspiration for each recipe and is generous about crediting his sources. He is known for drawing on the traditions of African-American cooking and the cuisine of the African diaspora, but you will also sometimes find Asian and Latin American influences. His recipes are seasonal and creative. One feature of all his books is that the recipes and menus are accompanied by a soundtrack - recommended listening for while you cook and eat.
Use this thread to discuss the books, your preparations to cook for them, sourcing ingredients, and for asking questions. The reporting threads will go up on July 1.
