HAD A "JUICY LUCY" AT SOMA DINER IN BRADENTON!!!

Tuesday night went to SoMa diner for dinner, first time, this is Dave Shiplet's place, previously his talents were well exhibited at Poseidon on Longboat Key, then Ezra, Bradenton. Not only does So Ma Diner look really like a neighborhood restaurant, it is!!! there were more regulars there, all ages, but mostly younger, a welcome sight, for the "Tuesday half price bottle night", where all wines on the wine list are 50% off. Not a bad promotion. We had a California Rosenblum Cab, very good.
As for my "Juicy Lucy", I thought this was just a Minneapolis thing. At So Ma it consisted of a 12 oz, premium burger with cheddar inside and then flat grilled perfectly to order, served on Ciabatta roll, with fresh house made pickles, the thinnest onion rings around and choice of fries regular or truffle oil. Others with us had Dave's signature Spicy Calamari salad, (dinner size), a Flat Iron Steak Chicken Fried, served over Jasmine Rice,I did not taste it but there was nothing left on the plate...only raves about how good it was. Another dish on the table was North Carolina Flounder, "Fish and Chips" it was great. We will add this to our list of "go to more often places". See menu at link.
