Juicy Baked Apples

Can anyone suggest a particular variety of apple, which is easily available in the NY area, that will stay somewhat juicy when baked. I usually make them with Rome apples, but despite whatever liquid, and filling is added, the apple itself ends up having a dry potato-ey consistency.
I have heard Granny Smith, and Golden Delicious recommended, but was wondering if these would be any juicier than the Romes when baked.
Also, any really great recipes for these out there?

Thanks!
