I got to be a judge on Throwdown with Bobby Flay...

Because of my blog, I was invited to be a judge on the Food Network's Throwdown with Bobby Flay. But this time he didn't do any real cooking -- the contest was for hot dogs with Pink's Hot Dogs in L.A., and we judged based on their toppings and choice of dogs and buns. Although we waited around for quite a while while they taped the making of the dogs, the actual judging was over in a flash, and I only got to briefly shake hands with Bobby. I grabbed one of the dogs so I could finish it in peace after Flay left the taping. It was definitely interesting seeing how these Food Network shows are put together. It might be kind of cool to travel around working on these shows and recruiting food critics in each city, although everyone looks pretty stressed out!.
