I'm responding to Melanie's questiong from way bottom of the discussion.
Joy is a Taiwanese restaurant in Foster City. It's small and frequently pretty much by Chinese only. If you go there, be sure to ask for the Chinese menu, the English menu does not serve the same things.
Joy has some excellent traditional Taiwanese dishes. They serve the famous stinky tofu, fried or steamed or in stewed format (comes with a small burner on the bottom).
A few dish that I always order before and found to be excellent are their potstickers (they make them from scratch and it's the long kind not the round kind), mooshu knife shaved noodles, 3 cup chicken and chive boxes. For dessert they serve shave ice with eithe red bean or "love jade" jello with condense milk. I always save room for those. Everything we've order there were always good. The only downside is every time after I'm full from eating, I would eye the other tables and find what the others are eating to be even more interesting!
You can find Joy in Yahoo's yellow pages.
By the way, if you are already in Foster City and are in the mood for a pearl drink, in the Marina supermarket strip mall area, there is a drink shop that serves excellent pearl tea. I don't know the name of it, but I think it's the only tea/snack shop there.
