Okay, I know no restaurant jook (rice porridge/congee) can compare to the stuff someone's mom (or my mom) can make. And I know it's easy enough to prepare at home. But yesterday at about 10am I was out and about in the still foggy Richmond thinking that a bowl of jook would hit the spot (and a good yautiu/youtiao--Chinese donut--wouldn't be unwelcome either). Any ideas? Thanks.
