Decided to check out the infamous Johnny D's Sunday brunch. Since I was alone, and there was a wait for tables I sat at the bar. As I looked around the room I saw people happily enjoying their meals. The bartendar was gracious and through him, I ordered one of the daily specials: grilled asparagus benedict with a special bernaise sauce. The meal was delivered in less than five minutes. The portion size was very small. While the flavors of the sauce was incredible, there wasn't much there. I was disappointed that one of the eggs was poached hard, there were only four asparagus and greasy potatoes. I chalked this up to Johnny D's... afterall, what did I expect from a music venue? However, as I was paying my bill the two women next to me were served their breakfast... wow- an incredible looking 3 egg omelette brimming with goodies, and three huge blueberry pancakes that look light and yummy! I felt so let down... I'm always the one who orders the best meal and everyone else is jealous. Looking more closely at what others were eating at the bar, I began to feel ripped off...significant portions of good looking food were everywhere!!!!! As I walked out the door and down the street I comforted myself with the idea that I needed to lose a couple of pounds anyway.. maybe the chef knew that *grin* Yeah, I'll go back I think.
