JOHN ANDREWS REPORT ( The Berkshires )

niccole | May 27, 2006 11:05 PM

tonight my husband and i went to JA for our anniversary dinner and once again it was PERFECTION.

we started at the bar with a glass of wine and were seated quickly, we had a 7:45 reservation and got there about 7:35...

we sat down and ordered a bottle of kenwood jack london sonoma cab, which we had last year on our anniversary too :)

service was GREAT. you could tell our server was old school and had been doing this forever. she was SMOOTH.

for apps we shared the lobster ravioli and the warm mozz & prociutto salad. lobster was awesome and oh my god the warm mozz- i cannot even explain how tasty it is. i have never ever had mozzerella like this. the only place that compares is an italian place by the name of A16 in SF. it is to die for and i hated sharing it with my husband.

for dinner my husband had seared duck and he said it was the BEST duck he has ever had. i tried it and it was delicious. i had the ricotta gnocchi...WONDERFUL.

for dessert we had the almond cake with strawberries and a chocolate cake with espresso ice cream...TASTY.

i had been looking foward to this dinner for weeks and it did not disapoint. i moved form SF area back home to the berkshires in october, and JA is by far in my opinion the best restaurant in the area. it totally compares to the fabulous places we went to in SF.

cant wait to go back!!!!

ps- excuse any typos please, after a few glasses of wine.....
