Joe's Place Featuring Joe's Mom's Food in Raleigh.

I have eaten here many times over the years and had recently heard that they had closed. Well, it looks they are back by popular demand. They are a meat and three, not two, but three also offering deli sandwiches.

I had the meat and three which is a good deal for around $7. The baked chicken had a flavorful, crisp skin. The green/snap beans were cooked southern style, but not over cooked. Although they weren't on the menu, the collards were good in spite of not having pork for added flavor. The macaroni salad was freshly made. The meal came with cornbread or rolls.

You can also get all you can eat veggies for less than $6. Eat what you order and they will bring you more. There were 10-12 veggies to choose from and about half of them are cooked without animal fat.

The food I had today was the equal of Finch's, Pams's, Joyce's or the farmers market. I'm glad they are back.
