Jimmy'z Kitchen Miami Beach

jmdhsmiami | May 16, 2008 10:23 AM

I am not sure if I am the first to mention this place, I did a search on the board and found nothing. I am eating my lunch that was just delivered from Jimmy'z Kitchen in Miami Beach on Alton Road.

I had to stop to give a shout out to them. This place is off the chain! I have been ordering from them for some time, they were originally featured on a DailyCandy email. I go back whenever I am to lazy to bring my lunch. They do a Mofongo Friday and have added it to Saturday as well. (I had to stop endulging on Mofongo Friday as my waist was starting to take a hit!)

I went for a couple of their specials today. The Carrot Ginger Soup. It tasted dairy free in addition to being vegetarian. I usually get their Chicken Cobb Salad that tastes like you chopped it up fresh yourself at home but went for their Duck Breast Salad with Fig Dressing (toasted almonds, cranberries, blue cheese, green apple, and carrot). The duck is soft and juicy (WOW!) In addition to their menu online they do a blog where they post the daily specials, so if you are sitting at your desk like I am right now, I can jump on their blog for the current specials

They do delivery and take-out and have a 8-10 seat cafe. The desserts are made by Jimmy and look incredible as I am scared to become addicted to his desserts! This is a siimple low-key kind of place.

For those that want history, per their website:

Jimmy Carey garnered experience from Five-Star hotels to Brasserie le Coze (sister restaurant Le Bernardin N.Y.C.) to actor Michael Caine’s South Beach Brasserie. From famous steak houses like Ruth’s Chris and Morton’s to casual-themed dining. Carey honed his craft and brings the result to the newest dining destination at Jimmy’z Kitchen.

So if you want something off the beaten path and on the side of South Beach where locals dine, check them out!

Harsh as it didn't seam like anyone has even tried it.
