Jianna, Aziza, or Frascati?

autumn | Oct 29, 200201:11 PM     7

My boyfriend just got a job after a very long period of being out of work. I want to take him out to celebrate. I do pretty well financially, and I'm a chowhound. He, on the other hand, is used to being broke and is just learning how to handle nice restaraunts. So, I'd like to make this something special without being so over the top that he'll be completely intimidated.

In looking through various reviews on Zagat, these three seemed most like the price and atmosphere I'm looking for. I haven't been to any of them, though, and so I'm turning to you.

I'm looking for something that will cost under $130 or so total. I'm looking for an intimate atmosphere, warm dim lighting. Romantic, not too noisy or crowded, but not dead silent and empty either. I'd like food that's fairly rich but not too dense, innovative combinations without totally scaring my boyfriend (he's open to new experiences, but just not very experienced when it comes to interesting food). I'm also looking for a place that's a little bit funky (think more like Meetinghouse, Cafe Kati, or Firefly rather than a place like Hawthorne Lane or Harris') so we don't feel underdressed if we're not in Armani. Specifically looking for something in SF, but penninsula or east bay could work too.

So, out of Jianna, Aziza, or Frascati, which would you pick? Or, any better suggestions?
