Jewish Food for Chinese Tastes?

Jason Perlow | Apr 19, 2001 11:25 AM

You know, theres all this talk about chinese food for jewish tastes, and frankly I am extremely annoyed at the entire chinese (and while we are at it, the whole of asian civilization) for not elevating Jewish cuisine.

Is there a token "Flying Kishka with Kvetching Grandmother Over Brooklyn dish" at Grand Sichuan? I think not. Has Matsuharu Morimoto done anything to raise the awareness of belly lox at Nobu? Can you find a decent bowl of matzo ball soup at any reasonably good cantonese restaurant? Or find Yum Thai Kasha Vanrishke salad, Bankok style at any good thai place?
Or find a decent masala potato knish at a south indian restaurant?

I think not. Given the level of support and dedication we jews have given to all of these cusisines, I think its payback time. You asians are all now officially on notice.
