Looking for a New Jersey-style diner in Orlando

Bill | Jan 3, 2006 11:02 AM

Unless you've lived in tri-state area, this may seem like a weird request. We have looked for years to find a true Jersey-type diner (like the Tick Tock) down here but to no avail. I'm thinking giant menus and items like the Happy Waitress (tuna melt). Basically, not Denny's.

We live in SW Orlando but will drive anywhere if we hear of a good one - we went all the way out to UCF to try the 5 & Diner, it was OK but a little too sanitized and 50's themed.

Places I've seen in online directories include Chuck's Restaurant, Patsio's Diner, Pauly's Diner, and the Princeton Diner. Has anyone tried these, do they measure up? Or any other ideas?

Responses are much appreciated.

Bill
