I've gotten a ton of great food from the help of this board and wanted to pass along a new favorite of mine. Apologies if there's already been a discussion-my search didn't turn up anything.
Jerry's Sandwiches in the West Loop has some of the best gourmet sandwiches I've ever had. They have a list of about 15 signature sandwiches and plentiful options for making your own. they use Red Hen and Amato's Bread, make all their own mayonaise and sauces, and use gourmet mustards etc. I'm not sure where the meat is from but they smoke some meats and salmon, and its great salmon! My current favorite sandwich (i've tried about 6 so far) is smoked salmon, homemade lemon-mayo with tomato onion and lettuce on Red Hen Multi Grain.
They have bakery selections, 2-3 soups a day, quiche, and a rotating selection of pasta & potato salads.
The daily email lists quiches, soups, and special roast meats. See their web site below.
