Jerry D's on Harford Road

I went to Jerry D's in Parkville last night because I had heard it mentioned here a few times & as well as in person & the recommendations were good. I ordered the soft shell crabs, as it seemd the knd of place that would do them right. They were defintely not. The dish came with 2 crabs that were extremely greasy & chewy & mushy. There was bread & lettuce & tomato, but the bread was not substantial enough to hold the crab even for one bite. My boyfriend ordered the fried scallops, which were OK, but defitely not what he was craving. The sides (baked potato & salad were good & the soup, broccoli cheddar was enjoyed, but overall, we were very disappointed. The beers were cold, though.

Is this what I should have expected, or did we just end up with an amatuer at the frier? This place is really close, so I had hoped to find a good neighborhood place for some chow. If anyone knows of something else in the area I should know about, I would appreciate the tip.

Thanks for any insights & have a great safe holiday weekend!
