[I think that this is my first post. I'm inspired by the comment that Charles Yu seems to be carrying much of the weight. Thanks, Charles!]
We enjoy takeout Jamaican food from Mr. Jerk in the Peanut Plaza (Don Mills halfway between Sheppard and Finch).
We like the jerk pork, the jerk chicken, the goat roti (bones optional but I think that they add to the taste). Oxtail is good too but a little salty. Chicken roti is fine but not as interesting as goat. We cannot really comment on other things because we have rarely tried them.
When we order a roti, we are asked if we want potatoes in it. We ask for a few. The normal amount is just too much but some potato is nice. I haven't figured out if potatoes displace other ingredients or the roti just gets larger.
When we order jerk pork, we always ask for "moist", meaning fattier. Just like we always ask for "medium" when ordering an Old Fashioned smoked meat sandwich at the Centre St. Deli.
An amazingly narrow store! The plaza also has an Asian supermarket, a Chinesee BBQ outlet, a Pho restaurant, a Chinese bakery, a West Indian bakery, and more.
Mr. Jerk is a small chain. We sometimes go to the branch at Lawrence and Wilson but have not enjoyed it as much.
