Jerk chicken brightens detention center visit

Visits to INS detention centers are unremittingly depressing endeavors. Had to find something positive to take out of it this time. Consult the Leff guide about ethinc eats out near Wackenhut. Hop into a gypsy van at Jamaica station and head down Guy Brewer Blvd. Make a note of Seamorhen II so I can stop on the way back. After a few hours at the center, I'm physically and mentally on the verge of collapse. Ask to be let out by Seamorhen. A rusty oil drum converted into a barbeque stands out front. This is about as grungy as grungy gets, but there's nothing to disparage about the genuine hospitality of the two guys working there. As per Leff's rec., I go for the jerk chicken. I can't conceive of better jerk chicken--that simple. Go there and be amazed, though according to the book they only cook fresh jerk on Tues. and Thurs. Try and avoid the detention center, though.
