jerk center (bronx)

finally made it to this place this past weekend, and unfortunately thought the jerk chicken was way too salty. which was too bad, because this place has gotten a lot of good reviews in the past. keep in mind ive only had jerk chicken from 2 other places (one of them being vernon's (?) on e. 233rd) but i thought vernon's was a tad better. the chicken at jc wasnt too dry, they give a good sized portion, but it was just so overwhelmingly salty, i needed something sweet to cut it, and it only came w/ one plantain, booooo. the sides were very good tho, the rice and peas, stewed cabbage and aforementioned plantain, but i wanted what they're known for to be spot on. it came out to be $8.50 for a small portion which i ate off of twice and a ting (thank god for the ting). the food redemption of the day tho was stopping at ali's roti and picking up some doubles for lunch the following day (and one fresh one to eat right then and there) those things are addicting
