Jennifer Colliau's New Cocktail Bar "Here's How" Closing

patsully | Feb 28, 202009:55 AM

It's one thing to push back against a chain fast food restaurant moving into a neighborhood, but something entirely different when a locally owned business is forced to close. Having seen shows at the Fox Theater across the street, it's hard to wrap my around a craft cocktail bar making the block any busier than it already is today. I'm disappointed I won't get to check it out.

From the article: "For Colliau, an Oakland native with more than 20 years of experience as a bartender and consultant including at the Interval in San Francisco, Here’s How was a dream project. She said as much in her note to customers, which mentioned how she, in part, opened the bar to create jobs for people living in Oakland."

“This city lost 12 jobs today,” the note read. “Oakland, I love you but you are breaking my heart.”

Oakland bar Here's How closes after lengthy battle with neighbors
