My friend Jeff Morgan, has graciously agreed to be in residence this week. Jeff's very knowledgeable about food and about wine, and particularly expert in food-and-wine. He teaches a class in wine matching for chefs at the culinary institute in Napa, and his book, "Dean & DeLuca: The Food and Wine Cookbook" (he was formerly wine director at Dean & Deluca) contains some very interesting wine-friendly recipes (he was also West Coast editor of Wine Spectator for a number of years)
Jeff's also a wine maker; his latest effort, SoloRosa, is something of a cult hit among wine country cognoscenti. It's a no-nonsense, dry, well-made rose - a real rarity. Unfortunately he only makes like fifteen bottles per year, so it's a rarity among rarities. Oh, and he's also an excellent jazz sax player.
Jeff will be answering questions and generally shmoozing about food and wine; recipes, matchings, wine making, etc.
Jeff's an interesting character, an outspoken iconoclastic straight-talker with very firm opinions; very much in the Chowhound spirit. I thought it'd be a kick to have him hang around for a few days.
Go ahead and start a thread with a question if you'd like, Jeff will be checking in daily and you can count on him to tell you the real deal.
