Went for dinner on Saturday night. As there were several conflicting recommendations beforehand, I'd like to report my experience. It was positive. My husband and I eat at Persimmon a lot, and we felt the food at Jean Michel was comparable. The atmosphere is not though. We were seated toward the back which is not very intimate. The front is better. I started with an arugula, pine nut and artichoke salad. It was accompanied by a crispy, parmesan "thing" that added a nice touch. My husband had flounder stuffed with spinach in a very flavorful sauce. I had beef tenderloin that was accompanied by potatoes au gratin, some sort of squash (?) mousse and a roasted tomato. Both sauces were excellent and we were mopping them up with decent French bread. We pre-ordered an apple tart (we aren't souffle people) which was delicate and not too sweet. A good experience.
