Jean-Georges - his influence? Sound off!

I was wondering about Jean-Georges today. I haven't been to one of his establishments for ages (I think he has more than 40 around the world now?). I really like the guy on the few times that I have met him, and find him interesting, but is he still relevant or just a businessman? Do people still go to his places like before and esteem him as an iconoclastic, influential chef? Or is he past his self-by date. I'd love to hear your opinions- of those who know him and especially about recent experiences of his high-end places...
