i kinda owe a few reviews but mainly I've ben holed up at home and after reading both the "piano tuner" and "from the land of green ghosts" recently i've been mainly cooking burmese.
but one place I've eaten fairly recently which hasn't been noted on the board is jazmyn's the somewhat new spot in the newly refurbished strip mall at dempster & dodge in evanston.
Jazmyn's is a nicer spot than many of the caribbean spots in the area, though by no means fancy, service is also a little quicker.
anyway the food, jerk was nicely cooked, moist and flavorful, but the sauce was somewhat of a disapponitment, thina and vinegary, not nearly as good as a number of places on the southside, but also not as good as that of the carribean american bakery or of linette's
oxtail was also fairly tough, though flavorful
all in all not a bad place, but not a destination of choice, IMHO
