There was a tiny Japanese noodle shop in the shadow of the World Trade Center that made a cold noodle dish called "jar jar mein." Not surprisingly, the place is now gone, but my memory of the dish lives on. It looked like spaghetti covered with cold Italian red sauce, but tasted more like cold Dan Dan noodles, although with what seemed like a soybeans and meat "sauce". The sauce was very thick -- almost pasty. Also, shaved julliened cucumber accompanied.
I'd love to find a place in Manhattan that makes it, or a recipe. I tried an internet search, and can't find anything. Help?
