A group of us had brunch yesterday at Jar, a lovely, very comfortable room (albeit a bit loud when they are at capacity.) I ordered the Lobster Benedict after reading about it on the board, and was disappointed. The char shui pork was tough, and overshadowed the more delicate lobster flavor. Hollandaise sauce was only fair, I like a little more tang, and there wasn't much of it.
Someone ordered the pot roast hash, asked that his eggs be poached instead of scrambled in, as described on the menu. I can't wax enthusiastically enough about the hash. Just fantastic, as were the pastries served when we first sat down. French fries were excellent, well seasoned. Didn't get to taste the other main dishes at the table.
We shared a butterscotch and chocolate pudding -- table was divided by preference. I'm a chocolate person and this was bittersweet perfection. The butterscotch fans swore up and down that their pudding was better than ours.
