Japanese Tea Snacks Available in Union market

For those of you who love Japanese tea snacks like I do and load up whenever you pass by Japan, Mitzuwa or Minamoto Kitcheon in NYC, I have good news for you. While cruising the Japanese festival last week, we found out Matsukawaya, a Japanese Wagashi maker will be available at Union Market DC at least until tomorrow. I would say it's not as overpriced as Minamoto Kitcheon and is much better tasting. We finished 3 boxes in the last week and plan to load up tomorrow in case they don't come back.

Here's their shop website just to get you salivating - I'd say the baked stuff is even better than the colorful stuff.

Depends on the demand in DC, they may consider opening up something here. I just don't know how many chow hounds there are to support this awesome Japanese snack shop. For now, at least load up without having to travel far. Enjoy!
