I've seen the posts recently about Japanese restaurants, so no need to say what's already been said.
Is there anywhere to get sukiyaki that's cooked at the table?
Any restaurants that do tableside tempura?
Also, I had a chowhound experience in Japan once, where a sushi chef retreived a flopping fish out of a tank in the window of the restaurant, fileted and skewered the fish without killing it, sliced the filets and daikon radish, placed it on top of the skewered fish on a beautiful plate, and served it to me while the fish was still flopping (or at least trying to). I had to say a little prayer. Seems sadistic to Westerners probably, but is there anywhere in SF that does that?
I'll be on foot/public transportation from near the Chinatown gate, but I'm picking up a car and heading north the last day. Location is not a problem.
