Japanese restaurant Mount Kisco

My wife and I have just returned from perhaps our sixth meal at ICHIBAN 33 Main Street Mt Kisco. and they have all been wonderful.Mr Lee, the owner had been sushi chef at Imperial Wok in Somers for many years and now opened this restaurant. We have found the food to be consistently good . I am partial to sashimi and I find the fish to be consistently fresh and of good quality. The portions are quite generous. Mr Lees son works the sushi bar along with an assistant and Mr Lee works in the kitchen but is always coming out to greet the diners. He is a master of soups and his clam broth with sliced ginger is truly great.Other family members round out the wait staff and the result is a very friendly place where everyone seems to know each other . It is almost like having a neighborhood pub with very good food in a friendly atmosphere.
The restaurant is a bit out of the way but well worth the effort to go there. There is parking available across the street in the parking lot behind the HSBC bank.
