Japanese persimmon jelly dessert?

anyone familiar with this japanese dessert? my friend would like to know more.
fyi, mitsuwa is a japanese market chain also available stateside (we're both in cali)


her write-up-
"According to the lady at Mitsuwa this is a special New Year dessert. The orange sections are a firm Persimmon jelly and the creamy middle section is a slice of butter. Yes, butter. When I heard it I thought 'butter' was a translation snafu but apparently I was wrong. That really is a thin piece of lightly salted butter in there.

The taste was unusual but not unpleasant. The jelly was sweeter than I expected. But the fatty saltiness of the butter cut through all that sugar. I wish there was more Persimmon flavor though.

Each piece was small, only slightly bigger than the size of your thumb....."
