In tow with an aunt visiting from Southern California and a mom and sister from the Western Suburbs will I, a Chicagoan, be this Saturday. I had a food itinerary all arranged until my aunt confessed an immense craving for Japanese, particularly great sushia craving which is certain to increase with intensity as her week in the fine company of my moms meatloaf, stuffed hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches progresses. I wanted to take everyone to Katsu, but I am afraid that we are confined by schedule to a meal between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and it does not appear that Katsu opens until 5:00 p.m.
Any recommendations for a restaurant, open for lunch on a Saturday, with great sushi as well as a solid non-sushi Japanese menu in Chicago? Neighborhood location is not an issue, as we will probably be driving all over the city nonetheless. Any help would be *greatly* appreciated. Thanks!
