japanese food on sawtelle

I was just at Sushi Sasabune for the first time tonight... oh my.... WHAT A TREAT!
Driving there made me wonder about all the other restaurants I haven't tried on Sawtelle. I've been to Sawtelle Kitchen, Yakitorya, Asahi Ramen and 2112(?-its the Asian Fusion restaurant).

Sawtelle Kitchen- OK for what it is. Nothing to brag about. Usually get the pork chops or curry.

Yakitorya- Nanbankan is MUCH better in: service, food, and selection... Nanbankan is GREAT... BUT- does it get any better than Nanbankan? I'd find it hard to believe that there is a place thats better than Nanbankan (as far as this style of cooking goes), but perhaps I've missed something. If you're ever at Nanbankan, try the Large Live Sea Scallop Special if you're lucky enough get one (they sell out of these things constantly). I absolutely LOVE this style of food... healthy, light, and refreshing. Don't wear your nice clothes though because you might smell of "BBQ" smoke once you're done.

Asahi Ramen- Haven't been in awhile, but I prefer Ramenya. Perhaps Asahi has gotten better since I've been there. Any thoughts?

2112- Didn't like it. For Asian fusion, Mako in Beverly Hills is hard to beat... for both the price, servie, quality, and the way they serve it tapas style so that you can realistically try everything. Also, I hate committing to ONE dish. Perhaps that is why I love sushi and tapas so much.

Aside from these restaurants I've mentioned, does anyone have any "must-try" places on Sawtelle (or around that general area) that I've missed? There are just so many restaurants there!
