I noticed over the holidays that Jana Valley sweet butter, the one that won the SF Chron's euro-style butter bake-off in the baking category
is no longer imported from New Zealand, as it was a the time of the bake-off, but has switched back to Czech Republic, which from what I gather is where it was originally made.
My experience with it up to now has been with the New Zealand, and I've found the Czech version to be much paler in color and bakes/gets hard faster than the NZ, with less satisfying taste and texture. I'm not impressed, but maybe it just means dialing it in (or switching to Lurpak?).
