In the cold weather go to Andrew or Fields Corner on the Red Line and take the #17 bus. This connects the two stations via Uphams Corner. Ask the driver to let you off at St Peter's Church on Bowdoin St. The Irie is across the street from St Peter's.
In warm weather you can walk up Adams St. from Fields Corner. It's about a 15-minute walk. St Peters is on the left at the top of the hill.
Ask about the specials at Irie. I love the Salt Cod and akee.
Don't forget to check out the First Parish -the old white wooden church on the hill. Come by the Parish St. entrance and ask for Tord, Mike or Barbara for a quick tour. If I am around and the weather is good, I'll take you up to the tower and let you ring the Dorchester Bell that dates to the 18th century. This was one of the 6 founding churches of Harvard University.
