On episodes of Heart & Soul and other series, Jacques cooks with pistachios that are amazingly plump and green. I've searched high and low for a source for these and cannot find anything. Everything looks brown and dull. I've read that Iran produces the best pistachios (but they don't seem to be available in US - sanctions? trade restrictions?), and I just saw an article in NY times recently about Sicilian "Bronte" pistachios, but again, no luck sourcing (Times mentioned on online source, Gustiamo, but they are sold out - due in part to publicity?).
