Arrived at 6.30 on Saturday - 30 mins left in the 2 for 1 Happy Hour Special. YES! They were offering a special wine - not on their list - the Brancott Sauvignon Blanc. Love this New Zealand white. $8 per glass - but 2 for one. We moved to table around 7:10 or so - no wait at all. There were 4 of us and we had a nice evening. Service was odd - sometimes we felt rushed - plates being taken too soon, visits to check in on us too often. Finally we said we were in no hurry and the pace relaxed.
What we ate: alligator cheesecake for table as app. GREAT, creamy, goodness but not overwhelmingly heavy. We ordered 2 fried chickens and one blackened redfish for the 4 of us. More than enough food. Fried chicken really is great and they SHOULD be famous for it. Fish was OK - my friend knew he had ordered bad. Dessert - Mississippi Mud pie was deep and rich, but again, not too heavy. Bourbon bread pudding good as well - could have been more custardy. Overall a good evening - would go again. Nice energy, upbeat.
