Jackson's Meat is back on 4th: Vancouver

We drove by on Friday morning and the paper was still on the windows but they opened at noon. I popped in at 6 pm tonight (they're opening every night except Sunday till 7 pm) for a look and ended up buying $70 worth of food. That's because they have an opening discount of 20% but just through tomorrow.

Great selection, combo of house made and others, lots of prepared items and frozen stuff too. A very decent cheese selection and some fine looking grillled sandwiches.

Christopher the son is working with his dad and carrying on the tradition -- he's very interested in feedback especially on how his prices stack up against other places. They mostly seemed in line though I pointed out one that stuck out to me. The cheese is more expensive than Parthenon but they have some different options. I thought the deli meats were very competitive, and the regular meat prices seemed by and large reasonable for the quality.

I'll post a couple of pix later but just wanted to let y'all know about the discount before tomorrow...
