not to return to the topic yet again but ...
i'm making a very brief (like, 36 hours brief) stop back in NYC this weekend, and would love to make a return visit to Jackson Diner.
this was a mainstay during my five years living in Astoria, but from my far-off perch (in Seattle) i've deduced that it dove, then possibly recovered, then may have sunk again. so, darn it, i'm confused.
point being: this isn't about a quick Saturday lunch, this is about a 2,600-mile trip for Indian food that sucks less than the average Seattle offering, and about reliving some past chow glories. a quick read of the board indicates there's many new options (Grand Sweets sounds like a current winner, if i could actually find an address) which i'd undoubtedly try if i were around for longer. but time is of the essence.
so, is Jackson Diner still worth it? or has that new location truly gone to their heads?
