I am a DC-NoVa hound. In anticipation of a rare trip to NYC (tomorrow!), a few weeks ago I posted and sought recommendations for life-altering chow in NYC. I received lots of good tips regarding Blue Hill, Per Se, wd-50, etc. Alas, because my friends have requested a downgrade in price range, I will have to store those tips away for next time.
Anyhow, we are still in search of food that we can only find in NYC (without leaving the country),only we have moved towards the cheap eats category. I thought Izakayas might fit the bill well. Is Kasadela the best? Or, are the ones on St. Marks better? We are a group of seven or eight, but the food is the most important criterion, of course.
Finally, is there somewhere else near the East or West Village that we should consider instead of Izakayas?
Thanks in advance for your help.
