The Ivy: Most Overrated in LA

Dissapointed | Dec 3, 2002 12:59 PM

I had a meal recently at the Ivy, and couldn't have found the food to be more bland and uninspired. Why does this place still exist? Just on celeb hype alone? The fish was dry and bland, their meatloaf average at best (and to have meatloaf on a menu when it isn't astounding is preposterous) and their side dishes were like airplane food (leeks in mashed potatoes? WTF?). For the price they charge, and I wont think twice about dropping 3-4 hundred on a great meal, I thought it was rediculous. This was the 2nd time I have dined there, and surely the last.

Thoughts? Am I crazy?
