On Sunday afternoon, while shopping at the Trader Joe's in Daly City, I found a rather generic looking 1997 Barbaresco "Che Storia" Riserva selling for $9.99.
Barbaresco is one of the premium red wines from the Piemonte region of northwest Italy and rarely sells in the U.S. for under $20. Frankly, it is hard to find for less than $30. I know that 1997 was an excellent vintage in that region. I bought a few bottles but have not tried it yet. Has anyone out there tasted this stuff? Should we be buying it by the case?
