Italian Restaurants--Northwest suburban

I've found good Mexican, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Egyptian, American, brunch, etc., etc. in the Des Plaines area, but I'm still looking for good Italian. I like Macaroni Grill, but I'd like something closer. Used to enjoy Esposito's, but they closed (am I the kiss of death?). Don't like Maggiano's because the food isn't good enough (or even excessive enough) to make up for the usually poor service. Service is not important in terms of being catered to, but I like my coffe cup refilled, the bread basket replenished, and the correct dishes supplied. Would appreciate some nominations.
