New Italian market/deli - Little Italy in Wallingford, CT

Little Italy just opened up on Rt. 150 in Wallingford in the Yalesville section, just past the Dunkin Donuts if you are coming from Rt. 68. I haven’t perused the aisles of the market, but I did see a bunch of Italian imports for sale.

They have a large deli area where you can buy the typical meats (I saw a few Boar’s Head signs). I have eaten lunch a few times there and have been impressed so far. The pizza is of the thin crust variety and pretty good, better than other fare in the area.

The sandwich I tried was great. It had marinated grilled chicken and eggplant, and was delicious. I also tried a soup on a separate occasion, which was escarole and bean. It had a good fresh garlic kick, with plenty of escarole and beans in it.

This area is somewhat lacking for quick, quality take-out options, but so far Little Italy has fit the bill for my coworkers and I.
