I've been a fan of the Italian Corner in East Providence for a few years- great sandwiches, deli, groceries, fresh pastas, and more. I saw on their website last week that they opened a new location in Knightsville (1674 Cranston Street). I stopped by earlier today for a sandwich. The building is small, has a deli counter, a small selection of groceries, and a half dozen or so tables. The sandwich menu is the same as the East Providence location. They have only been open for two weeks and the owner is in Italy, so I couldn't really get a feel for the place yet, but it is exciting! I hope that they will have a similar selection of homemade pastas, sausages, etc as the east providence location. There is definitely not enough room for a ton of groceries, but they did have some shelves with olive oils, vinegars, and some other things. I had the combination sandwich (which I cannot seem to stray from) which is provolone, capecollo, genoa salami, imported ham, lettuce, tomato and salsa verde dressing. I also add hot peppers. So delicious!
