ISO Toronto casual, family-friendly lunch/dinner spots in June

jroach | Apr 23, 201809:47 PM     5

Hello! We are planning a family road trip to Toronto, Ontario in early June and I am looking for some lunch/dinner options for us as we tour the city for 3 days. Specifically seeking restaurants/cafes near Casa Loma, the CN Tower, Holiday Inn Express at Lombard/Jarvis as well as the Toronto Islands. We will have our car, but intend to park it at the hotel and rely on the TTC or walking for the duration of our stay. Our children are 5 and 9 and not particularly picky, so we would consider nearly any menu type. What's unique to Toronto in the areas that we plan to visit? I also wouldn't mind checking out a good coffee house for coffee and pastries, if you have one in mind. My online searches leave me overwhelmed (and underwhelmed, in the case of options available on the Island). Thanks for any suggestions you may have!
