Alas, in search of a recipe for these wondrous little sweets of my youth.
Numerous internet searches have merely culled "instant" recipes involving canned mincemeat and frozen puff pastry...pales in comparison.
These little "cakes" contain homemade English mincemeat inside a "short" crust...traditionally given by godparents to their godchildren...in Coventry, England, no less. About 2-3 inches square, dough gathereed up into a little "pouch". To die for, as long as they're made right.
Would be forever in someone's debt for a family (i.e. "non-instant" ) recipe....
Thanks so much in advance!!
