I have a recipe for peppermint bark that calls for peppermint extract. Does this stuff really exist?
I already own Durkee's mint extract, but that's a peppermint/spearmint combo and I really want pure peppermint flavor.
In Westchester, I have tried Whole Foods, D'Ag, Williams-Sonoma, Rye Country Store and June & Ho's. In the city, I called Kalyustan's and Adriana's Caravan. I even tried Penzey's. Zero, zip, nada.
Any thoughts on where I might find this stuff?
Alternatively, if you have thoughts on substituting oil based peppermint flavoring (which I found at Whole Foods), please see my post in Home Cooking.
